Meet Joshua Sherman, Owner
Josh Sherman started his career working for some of the most respected design-build firms in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Over 25 years, he managed projects ranging from $7,000 bathroom refreshes to $700,000 full home renovations and he learned what separates a contractor people trust from one they regret hiring.
In 2024, he founded Breachway Building Co. with a straightforward mission: give homeowners across Westerly and coastal Connecticut a contractor they could count on. One who shows up, communicates clearly, quotes a real number, and does what he says he'll do.
Josh specializes in high-end home construction and disaster restoration, working closely with top trade partners and insurance providers throughout Rhode Island and Connecticut. When you hire Breachway, Josh is the person who comes to your home for the estimate, oversees the build, and is available when you have questions.

The name says it: Breachway. It's a local landmark — the cut through the barrier beach at Charlestown Breachway, right in our backyard. We're a local company rooted in Westerly, working throughout southwestern Rhode Island and coastal Connecticut.
Breachway Building Co. was founded on one idea: why buy a new house when you can build what you love in the home you already have? Whether you're updating a kitchen, adding a room for a growing family, or recovering from a flood or fire, we help homeowners fall back in love with their homes without the stress of hidden costs or unreliable contractors.

Breachway Building Co. holds active contractor licenses in both Rhode Island and Connecticut, and carries full liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage on every project.

For disaster reconstruction projects, we work directly with all major homeowner's insurance carriers operating in Rhode Island and Connecticut. You don't have to be the go-between.
